Lead Data Engineers (x3) – TSPV Cleared

Canberra (ACT) / RAAF Edinburgh (SA) | Onsite
12-Month Contract + Extensions | Up to 40 hours/week

Cleared Recruitment is partnering with a key Defence organisation to engage three experienced Lead Data Engineers to support mission-critical data and analytics capabilities within a highly secure national security environment.

The Opportunity

As a Lead Data Engineer, you will play a strategic and hands-on role designing, building and optimising complex data solutions. You will work across large-scale data environments, enabling advanced analytics and supporting high-impact operational outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development and optimisation of data engineering solutions for complex programs
  • Build, maintain and deploy data pipelines, data stores and analytical environments
  • Provide expert advice on data architecture, interoperability and modelling
  • Identify system improvements, vulnerabilities and optimisation opportunities
  • Drive best practice in data governance, integration and metadata frameworks
  • Lead strategic initiatives aligned with emerging technologies and data innovation

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience at a Lead Data Engineer level (SFIA Level 6 equivalent)
  • Strong expertise in data modelling, architecture and data integration
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale, complex data programs
  • Experience with analytics platforms and data engineering toolsets
  • Degree in Computer Science, IT or a related discipline
  • Ability to influence strategy and drive continuous improvement in data capabilities

Security Requirements

  • Current TSPV clearance is mandatory
  • Must be eligible to undergo additional organisational suitability assessments
  • Employer requires DISP membership

Contract Details

  • Start Date: September 2026 (indicative)
  • Initial Term: 12 months
  • Extensions: 2 x 12-month options
  • Location: ACT or SA (RAAF Edinburgh), onsite
